Poker Copilot Still Not Coming to App Store

So the news here is that nothing is happening…

Poker Copilot has been ineligible to be added to the App Store until Apple and Oracle completed Java 7 for Mac OS X. Work was coming along well, I’ve been trying all developer-only releases, and sending feedback and bug reports to Apple/Oracle.

But then, a couple of days ago, Apple announced that as of March 2012, applications available in the App Store will have to be “sandboxed”. This means, they won’t have access to other program’s files and info. Which means that a program like Poker Copilot would not be able to interact with a program like PokerStars. Which means Poker Copilot won’t be making it into the App Store.

I’m a bit disappointed, as this has been a goal I’ve been working towards for months.

Poker Copilot 2.96 Now Available

Poker Copilot 2.96 is now available to download.

A big thanks to the Winamax team for working closely with me to get things ready for their changed hand history format.

What’s changed:

  • Upcoming Winamax hand history changes supported.
  • Improved pasting of formatted hands into plain text editor
  • Improved handling “My playing day starts at” for summer time

What’s fixed:

  • Fix for Merge Network stake level problem – no small blind posted meant incorrect stake level info

Update Instructions:

  1. Download the latest version here.
  2. Open the downloaded file.
  3. Drag the Poker Copilot icon to the Applications icon. If prompted to replace an existing version, confirm that you do want to replace.

Now you are done and ready to hit the tables.

Poker in Barcelona?

Last (northern hemisphere) winter I hibernated in Beirut. This year, I’m at the other end of the Mediterranean, in Barcelona.

I’m looking to join a regular home poker night. Small buy-ins, playing for fun. Know of anything? Let me know via email: steve@pokercopilot.com
