Post-Holiday Inertia

According to Isaac Newton’s First Law of Motion, an object at rest tends to stay at rest. It can also be stated as follows: Steve in holiday mode tends to stay in holiday mode.

Since returning from holiday, I’ve found it hard to get back into the full swing of working. My inbox still contains a swag of emails which I want to answer, just as soon as I do all the important tasks. Like making another cup of coffee, or checking Facebook one more time just in case something really interesting appears. Or removing the built-up calcium from the shower head, a task which occupied a small part of this morning.

So apologies to people still waiting for answers to queries and suggestions. Hopefully today is the day Newton’s Second Law of Motion will come into play, and my body will experience a force, causing an acceleration.
