All-In Equity Value Chart Preview Ready for Download

This is not an official Poker Copilot update. This is a preview release for those who are keen to see the new features: All-in Equity Value Chart, and the first two Leak Detectors.

I've spent a good part of today manually going through hands from various poker rooms, calculating what I think the all-in equity value should be, and comparing it to what Poker Copilot calculates. There are a couple of known problems still with unusual situations. Split pots also need to be handled better.

You can download the latest preview release of Poker Copilot (2.36) here. Feedback appreciated, especially if you uncover a heinous problem.

Hi Steve, i downloaded the 2.36 version but i have 2 problems:
1) i didn't find the turbo loader and loading my over 90000 hands was slow; turbo loader isn't available anymore?
2) with the new version i had to update my database; when i did that, i noticed that all my pokerstars.it results were equal to zero; why all the info i manually added after every tournament aren't shown?
If i back to 2.35, do you think i'll find my ps.it data with the quick and brutal update method?
Thanks.

@Attilio,

It should be a little slower, maybe 25% or slower. "Turbo load" actually didn't have much effect in recent updates so I got rid of it.

If you go back to 2.35, yes, you should get your tournament results again. I don't know why they weren't shown. Did any errors appear in your Poker Copilot console?

Regards,

Steve

Hey, Steve

May you add EV-Chart to tournament as well, please?

Hi Steve, i went back to 2.35 but the ps.it data weren't there so, i think i lost them forever?
Maybe they are in some place?
The biggest problem is that starting from the beginning of this year, i made the exchange from euros to dollars for my ps.it tournaments; now if i can't find the data, it's impossible to have the correct amount of money i won/lost for every tournament.
If you need the errors in the 2.35 console, i sent it to your email address.
Bye for now.

Hey Attillio

I just updated to 2.36, took about 2h to recover Database but I've got 350K hands o_O

Everything worked fine for me. All my tournament results are still there. Btw I'm using $. Maybe there is the problem.

But you don't have to worry about your results.
You can request a player history audit from the lobby.

Just get the audit in csv and import it to Copilot.

Hi Sammy, my problem is with PokerStars.it only (Italian residents can just play there, no more at ps.com) and there we have everything in Euros; no problems with the Full Tilt Results.
I requested the audit but now i don't know how to import it to Poker Copilot, i found just "export" on the menu.
Can you tell me how to do it?
Thanks for the help.

@Attilio:

In Poker Copilot, you can import the audit using File -> "Add PokerStars Tournament Audit..."

yeah, I know Italian players can only play on ps.it since about a year. But it's like a big fish lake with Italian players only :-)
I wish I could play there, and I know many players who think the same.

But if you really want to play at ps.com from Italy, it's not that hard to set up a proxy.

Hey Steve, what's about my question? :-)

Steve McLeod said...

@Sammy,

Request noted!

I'll try to add it before the next update.

Attilio said...

Thank you very much, guys, after some manual adjustments, i recovered the data.
Steve, do you have any advice to avoid this in the future?
Maybe i have to export the ps tournaments to my desktop before any update?
Thanks again, Steve and Sammy!

Steve, just a curiousity, why the EV $ diff is negative when i win an all-in and positive when i lose it?
What means that?

Steve McLeod said...

@Attilio,

I'll need to write a clear post to describe what the All-in EV diff shows.

If you are 88% chance to win a pot of $10.00, then your expected value is $8.88. If you win the pot, you have exceeded expected value by $1.12. So your EV diff is -$1.12.

If you lose, you are $8.88 under expected value. So your EV diff is +$8.88.

I hope this makes sense!

I'm not quite sure what went wrong, so I don't know exactly how to avoid this for next time.

How did you get your ps tournaments back?

Attilio said...

Steve, i used the audit in csv format.
Sammy, i knew there was a solution for playing at ps.com with proxies but i don't know what to do.
And it's safe?
Any advice?
Italian players are horrible and this is good but, for me, not so much because i prefer to play against good players.
During the easter days, all the donks were there and i had 5-6 players playing more than 60% of their starting hands in a 9 persons sng and every hand we had raises with A-trash, connectors, suited connectors, suited trash, etc.
I'm a tight aggressive player and i fold AQ if a player before me raises to 60 with the bb that is 20 so, in these situations, it's hard playing a hand for a player like me and i have to say that these donks are almost always very lucky with me but i don't mind, i keep playing my poker.
Thanks.

I have a problem with HUD, i can't see opponent stats

Shouldn't the all-in equity chart only show hands where I was all-in? Mine is showing all my hands.

Lord Bodak said...

2.36 gave me tons of errors importing hands... related to pokerevalppc not being found. Does 2.36 not work on PPC, or do I need to get the pokereval library myself from someplace?

Steve McLeod said...

@andrea, can you please send your support request to support@pokercopilot.com?

@JhighPaiGow, I based the chart on the example set by HEM, so it shows for all hands. But in the hands where you or an opponent didn't go all-in, it will show the match the value for bankroll chart.

@Lord Bodak, it should work on PPC. I tested it on PPC and had no problems. I'll have to take another look into this.

Steve

I can send you the log if you like, but it looked like it was pretty much all errors related to missing pokerevalppc.

Steve McLeod said...

@Lord Bodak,

Problem solved. It turns out that the pokerevalppc library is indeed missing from the 2.36. That's a slip-up from me, I'm afraid.

The next update will fix this.

Steve
