Poker Copilot Sales Breakdown

My sales breakdown for October:

By CPU:

By Operating System:

How do I know this? I don't really. The data I have is data sent by your browser from the computer you used to purchase Poker Copilot. It's as close as I'll get to the real data.

Is it worth still supporting PPC users and Tiger users? At 7% and 8% respectively, I think it is.

The big question is whether you can produce a product that will perform adequately for professionals with newer systems without using the more restrictive Cocoa libraries. A corollary is whether PCoP can be made to perform adequately on the older systems.

Any of the Intel Macs, which hit production in January 2006, are capable of running Leopard, which was released in October 2007. Perhaps it's time to consider requiring Leopard now that it's been available for more than two years. That wouldn't necessarily leave out the newer PPC systems, you have to go back more than five years for systems that don't perform well enough to run Leopard.

When you consider your target customer base, how much weight do you want to give to semi-pro and pro players? People who are making money playing poker could easily afford to pay $100 for Leopard or Snow Leopard if they had a reason to upgrade.

Another target market question is how you're planning to promote the product in the future. Endorsements from pros carry a whole lot of weight in the poker world. How many players do you want wearing PCoP caps at next year's WSOP? First you have to provide a tool that can run just as well on 20 tables as it runs on one. You also have to put up a logo product page at cafepress.com. Then you have to give some caps away to users who'll be in Vegas next summer for the WSOP.

As I still use a PPC machine, I think it is too!
