About This Blog
In May 2008 I started working on Poker Copilot, initially as a product to help me with my own poker playing. Soon I joined a "30-day Challenge", where the participants each aimed to launch a software product in 30 days. As a result of this challenge, Poker Copilot version 1.0 was launched in July 2008.
This blog tracks the ongoing development of Poker Copilot. Who would find this blog interesting? People interested in 1-person software development, in Poker, or in both.

Thanks for that.
In my my opinion we need some kind of weigted average for theses table stats to be of any real use.
The way I read the current calculation, this means though that the formula makes no correction for # of hands played. Seems like a huge hole. Say you're at a 10 player table at Stars:
Player 1 you've played 500 hands with and VPiP = 22
Player 2 you've played 200 hands with and VPiP = 15
Player 3 you've played 300 hands with and VPiP = 30
Player 4 you've played 800 hands with and VPiP = 18
Player 5 you've played 200 with and VPiP = 16
Player 6 you've played 1 hand 1 hand with and VPiP = 100
Player 7 you've played 4 hands with and VPiP = 75
Player 8 you've played 5 hands with and VPiP = 50
Player 9 you've you've played 11 hands with and VPiP = 60
If we're weighting each of the players the same, we're mixing sample sizes in a way that makes this statistic so muddy as to be pretty much useless.
Say at a 10 player table .... 4 brand new players, who we have say 5 only hands on each, carry the same statistical weight as say 5 other players whom we have say 500 hands on each. Makes no sense and renders the stat totaly unreliable.
Maybe if you could place a minimum number of hands for a player before they are inlcluded in a calculation?
There's just a huge flaw, in giving the same weight (in terms of table stats) to an opponent we've never played before.. (i.e. someone who sits down and plays say 7 out of 10 hands (70% VPiP), as we do someone we've played 1,000 hands with at a VPiP of 18%.
Am I reading this right the way we're calculating it right now?
