Yesterday's Early Access Program (EAP) release was a disaster. While fixing some bugs last week I inadvertently added some multi-threading problems. These are the one-in-73 type problems: you might use Poker Copilot 73 times and only see the problem once, because they are subtle timing problems.
On the other hand, the release was very successful because it quickly revealed these problems. I fixed them late last night, added some checks that will make it harder for such problems to happen in the future, did some smoke-tests this morning, and have now released a new EAP build (#23).
That's crowdsourcing at work. Thank you EAP community!

About This Blog
In May 2008 I started working on Poker Copilot, initially as a product to help me with my own poker playing. Soon I joined a "30-day Challenge", where the participants each aimed to launch a software product in 30 days. As a result of this challenge, Poker Copilot version 1.0 was launched in July 2008.
This blog tracks the ongoing development of Poker Copilot. Who would find this blog interesting? People interested in 1-person software development, in Poker, or in both.

This release also failed to import my full data set. V1 shows a total of 67,599 hands. Somehow 4,929 hands are being dropped in these last two releases, only 62,670 hands make it into the database.
Hi Keith,
Could do a couple of things for me, to help in working out where those 4,929 hands are?
1) Check in Poker Copilot that your hand history folders are the same in both v1 and v2
2) Check the Poker Copilot v2 console (Tools -> Console) to see if there are warnings or error messages saying that certain hands couldn't be read.
Many thanks!
Regards,
Steve

The hand history folders are ok. There's a bunch of files from May 30th to June 14th that are showing up in the console as invalid. Console listing example:
2009-07-12 11:36:40 WARNING: Invalid file: /Users/keith/Documents/HandHistory/KeithX/FT20090614 Burnham - $1-$2 - Limit Hold'em.txt
The files process properly in V1.81
Thanks!
Hi Keith,
Could you send me a copy of one of the files that PCP v2 said was invalid? I'd like to take a close look.
Regards,
Steve
Like with the last EAP builds, I can't get the HUD to display. The Errors and Warnings console is empty, and the HUD diagnostics show 'Table not in Poker Copilot database'. As before, the stats and mucked hands are updated correctly.
Regards,
Klaus.
I am having the same experience as Klaus; HUD not working and diagnostics says "Table not in Poker Copilot database".
I tried build 23 today it is the same.
JT
sorry... forgot to say the table I was playing was FTP $5 +.50 9 handed sit and go...
JT
Hey Klaus and JT,
Could you post me a screenshot of the HUD Diagnostics screen, when it says "Table not in Poker Copilot database"? It might help me find a clue as to what is wrong.
You can send it to me at steve@pokercopilot.com
[Cmd] + [Shift] + 3 takes a screenshot and saves it on your desktop.
Regards,
Steve
