I neglected to mention some changes in today's Early Access Program (EAP) release of Poker Copilot. There is no longer a HUD control window. If you want to change HUD settings you can go to the Head-up Display menu and choose "Head-up Display Options". This is a quick way of getting to the HUD preferences.
Here's why I did this:
1) Poker Copilot EAP suffered from window-clutter
2) Most people will change the HUD settings once or twice, then never need to see the controls again
3) There's a principle in user interface design that says you should hide complexity from first-time users, but make the complex features easily findable as users become confident with the user interface.
The HUD is now always on when Poker Copilot is running. It is optimised to use minimal resources.

About This Blog
In May 2008 I started working on Poker Copilot, initially as a product to help me with my own poker playing. Soon I joined a "30-day Challenge", where the participants each aimed to launch a software product in 30 days. As a result of this challenge, Poker Copilot version 1.0 was launched in July 2008.
This blog tracks the ongoing development of Poker Copilot. Who would find this blog interesting? People interested in 1-person software development, in Poker, or in both.

I agree with everything you say about the interface except one thing. Please bring back the little play/pause button on the game window.
While I value the PC HUD data I don't want to see it all the time. I want to use it to confirm my estimates of a player but I want to be able to easily and quickly turn it on and off during a game.
The old play/pause icon was perfect. It is much more time consuming to turn it on and off in build 20.
Thanks for your consideration,
JT
Thanks for the post. I like the way the new HUD operates.
