I downloaded Safari 4 beta on the weekend. I was impressed by Apple's "Download Safari" web page. A near-perfect balance between the important components:
- Shiny big download button? Check
- System requirements shown? Check
- One-click download? Check
- E-mail address optional? Check

Near perfect, but needs a few more smarts behind it. It always defaults to the Leopard download, even if you're using Tiger. It's smart enough not to show you the Windows download (so knows which OS you're running) but then doesn't follow through with the default selection.
I also wonder how many people filled out the email form not realising that it was optional.
