A few people have reported having problems with Poker Copilot and the new HUD. Problems include sluggishness, and eventually, crashing.
As far as I can tell, the common factor is that all people having these problems are running older Macs, usually PowerPC machines. Unfortunately I don't have a PowerPC machine myself, making it a little tricky for me to work out what's going wrong.
But don't fret. Fixing this is a priority for me. I've got some ideas I hope to implement and test in the next few days.

About This Blog
In May 2008 I started working on Poker Copilot, initially as a product to help me with my own poker playing. Soon I joined a "30-day Challenge", where the participants each aimed to launch a software product in 30 days. As a result of this challenge, Poker Copilot version 1.0 was launched in July 2008.
This blog tracks the ongoing development of Poker Copilot. Who would find this blog interesting? People interested in 1-person software development, in Poker, or in both.

Last night I played my first cash game session with the new HUD. I was playing two tables in racetrack format on FT. after about 100 hands (50 each) the HUD started appearing on each table much too slowly so it was unusable. I had no other apps running and it wasn't a problem with the classic HUD. Also I couldn't see how much the guy on the top left was betting because the HUD was in the way and would move right back if I tried to move it.
Is the slowing down a Copilot problem or my computers problem?
Thanks
I have a brand new macbook aluminum and copilot keeps crashing for me every time I use the HUD as well. Usually it works for some time, but after 10-15 minutes I notice it is frozen.
Thanks for the info. It seems I need to review some of the new HUD code.
Somehow I don't have these problems myself. So it's good that you let me know that you are having probs.
Steve please post a confirmation when the system's performance is flawless enough so we could get to enjoy playing it at the comfort of our own homes. Thanks!
Just worked for me 4-tabling for 350 hands on FTP using an (intel) MacBook with OS X 10.4.11.
Haven't had the HUD freeze since the latest software update. Seems to work on my PowerPC iBook too.
i have a similar problem but not as severe... it seems to run fine for me, just really power and ram intensively. it hasn't frozen on me but my battery life on my macbook halved when i put it on... but it works fine...
ibook G4 10.4.11 and it hasn't worked for me yet... hopefully one of these days, thanks! ;)
Also on an ibook g4 10.4.11 and it works 90% for me. I 6-tabled 500+ hands tonight and the only hitch I experienced was that HUD would disappear from a table or two every so often. I toggled HUD off/on, and everything worked fine.
Stay tuned for an updated version tomorrow or the next day. Hopefully it'll be much better for PowerPC users.
Regards,
Steve
